Fog light question

After searching and finding various responses I decided to post my own. Need foglights for my 2007 Accord. Do I go OEM or E-Bay? Do I want to go with HID bulbs? Lastly, what do I need to install HID's in my low beams? Thanx for the input! :p

HID lamps require a ballast to work. the HID conversion kits you buy for headlights are vehicle/model specific and have plugs that mate to your factory wiring. you just power the ballasts from the battery (and mount them). locating the ballasts is the biggest chore since you can't modify the wiring between the ballast and lamp (high voltage).

HID lamps in non-HID housings suffer a drop in optics performance since the light source has moved.

never exceed wattage ratings of factory locations. if you have a 35W factory bulb, the HID needs to be 35W as well.

OEM fog lights will fit better, but ebay is a common source for those parts, but ebay is always a gamble. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

for fit and finish, i would go with OEM foglights, but verify you can swap those for HID (also recognizing that performance will suffer due to a different lamp).
