Fuse Blows when Honking the horn?
 

Alright, my friend has a older model accord. Its the 2002 accord look. To get striaght to the point she, when she honks her horn, her fuze blows causing her taillights not to work. She has a V6 engine, its a coupe, and thats all the specs i remember. What is the problem with this?

What fuses blow? Does the horn fuse blow? That sounds like one of these electrical problems that just takes all week to figure out. I learned the hard way when a friend asks to help with that kind of problem to just say no, it's worth any sort of favor or cash.

i believe it was a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood in the upper right hand corner. i was pretty much wasted and was just trying to help her late at nite. i googled around and some people had similar problems. they said the taillights uses the same fuse as the horn. and maybe that the one of the wires on the horn was short? i dunno, i havent taken a hard look at her electrical system yet. but was hopeing someone on the forum could tell me a good starting point.

My guess would be that there is short on the horn circuit. Trace it and find the short. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

Try unplugging the horns, replace the fuse and try it out. I expect that the horn itself has the short. This happened once on my airhorns and it turned out that the compressor was shot.
