hmm electrical problme help!!

Hey everyone its been a while, but i have been noticing while driving (at night) my dash lights like speedo, rpm, and gas gauge all fluctuate in brightness along with my clock.. they will, like flash.. but it has no corrilation with throttle position. To my light control dial (the one to controll brightness) i have my water temp gauge hooked up to (to sense when lights are turned on so it turns on backlight as well).. I thought at first maybe my alternator was going out but idk... Another problem while going with it is my headlights do same thign (OLLO HIDs) idk though, weird.. thought about going to autozone for electrical test but they are just retarded... please help. :) Happy hollidays.

RE: hmm electrical problme help!!

with the extra current draw you have now do a little searching for "Big 3 upgrade" and start by upgrading your ground wires. Other possible cause is your alternator is trying to fail on you, cuts out for a few minutes, battery takes over, back and forth etc.

Have you tried disconnecting the temp gauge to see if perhaps it has a floating ground or something?

well i was the one that installed the temp gauge myself.. i am not sure what you mean exactly when you say floating ground... i have it running from Temp-Anotherwire (larger gauge)- chassis right next to where battery ground is at..
