I need help

i have a 2008 15000 mile honda accord and for christmas i got two twelve subs but i only want to put one it. i Have most of the wiring hooked up already but i keep getting told that my cars alternator will die and it will run down my car having the subs. i really wanted them and i was wondering if my car will be fine with them or if i should get something so it doesnt run down anything in my car. Help!:(

This is 2 - 12" subs in the trunk of my Honda running almost 2,000 watts.
You will be fine.

what kind of subs are they and what amp are you running? you can cause damage to the alt and battery but it depends on how much extra amperage you are pulling. when stating what sub and amp please be specific as to model as well.

The alt will only supply as much current as it can. If you need more than that then the voltage drops and the battery provides the rest. In this situation, the alt will be fine. The battery life may shorten depending on how long you sustain voltage drop. Also, Honda's use the ELD to tell the computer if it is ok to turn the alt off. The battery suffers more in this situation.

Best things you can do is get a good AGM battery and do The Big 3 wiring upgrade.

Your plan is probably fine but I don't know what amp you are using.
