Inside Speakers (Need opinions)

Before i go out and spend a lot of money again, and so i dont make another mistake like last time, i need your opinions for my interior speakers in my accord. how will these work for me?

And if these are good, i need recommendations for a 4 channel amp. im on a budget but will do what i have to get quality sound.

Ok then you should do what I did. Forget the rears, at least for now. They don't do much, and they can really throw off your staging without a processor or EQ. Spend the absolute most you can on the fronts and a two channel amp. That way you can afford a top quality system. Wasting the money on rears now is only going to negatively affect your sound quality if your on a tight budget. Those speakers are not great and will leave you disapointed if you are looking for that real quality.

what do you recommend then? honestly i dont even really hear my rear speakers as of right now, now that u mention. the L7 covers all that up i guess.

Alpine type s are a good speaker. And you shouldn't be amping them just hook them up to the existing speaker wire

pham9006 03-01-2009 02:42 PM

why should i not amp them?

logan 03-01-2009 02:45 PM

They can't handle the power they will blow. There only ment to hook to existing speaker wire. If you want good quality go with type r they are amazing and will need to be amped

Dude logan get out of here if you going to give horrible suggestions like that, you obviously don't know what your talking about. Those speakers are rated at 80watts and have a sensitivity of 88dB, if they don't amped they will sound like crap. Pham and everyone else, please ignore anything logan has to say in the A/V section, in 5 minutes I've seen him give two horrible suggestions and say them like he is 100%. That is very confusing for people that are looking for answers. So please logan either stat that your unsure, or don't post at all.

Pham speaker brands is really a personal choice, I'm a big fan of JL. Alpine does make good speakers, and a few other brands just of the top of my head are, Polk Aduio, Focals, Boston Acoustics, are some that I heard and liked. Focals are a bit harsh though. Stay away from infinity, MB quarts, and other lower quality speakers. MB quarts used to be good, and I belive their top line is still good, but everything else just doesn't match up.

If speaker brands are a personal choice how can I give bad suggesions. His thread said he wanted opinions well that's my opinion deal with it

Lol let's see here.

Would you like to change your last comment before I continue?

You said those speakers shouldn't be amped, and that couldn't be any more WRONG. those speakers have a high power rating and a low sensitivity rating, I know this makes no sense to you, but that is WHY you have to amp them. Running an inefficient, high power speaker on 15w sounds horrible. It sounds muffled and dull. So stop already before you make yourself look even stupider. Why do you kids come on here to answer questions? Your not going to get any credit or cool points. I'm only here to help people, so if your going to make it hard for me to help people I will just stop, and that is only going to hurt the people that need help, not me. I have better things I could be doing then answering the same questions over and over again, so if you care at all about this community you will stop this before I have your posts deleted.

You know your stuff I'll admit that but calm down man I'm allowed an opinion. I have a friend who hooked up his type S to the existing speaker wire and didn't sound too bad. If you don't agree with me that's fine just say so there's no need for you to insult me over it
