just bought a 12" Pioneer sub but need help

I just bought a 12" Pioneer sub TS-W309D2 from Best Buy on sale for $40 thinking it was a good deal (was it? lol). it's a 400w rms 2ohms sub and I'm having a hard time deciding which amp to get. I understand adding just a sub, I should get a mono amp and from my noobish research, I've come up with two amps to choose from: the Kenwood KAC-8105D and the Alpine MRP-M500. both amps are similar in specs and I don't know which to choose or which one is better. are these even the right amps for me? are there any other amps I should be looking at? I'm just looking for a reasonably priced amp to properly handle the Pioneer. This will be connecting to my '12 Accord SE stock radio. any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

do you have to buy it from Best Buy? Can your order one?

You bought a Dual 2 ohm sub. So you need to power it at 1 ohm or 4 ohms. You cannot achieve 2 ohm mono. The amps you listed are not what you want.

The Phoenix Gold S1000.1 includes high-level inputs and auto turn-on so you don't need to do any wiring behind the head unit or generate a remote turn-on. I recommend this over the two you listed. Phoenix Gold is making a nice come-back. This amp is larger than you need, so you have some future flexibility and headroom so you won't worry about clipping.
S1000.1 - 1000 Watt Mono-Block Amplifier - Phoenix Gold

There are other 1 ohm stable amps you could look at. Or you could get a higher power 2 channel and bridge it. But you want to keep high-level inputs and auto turn-on or you'll need to buy a LOC to achieve that. If you want a LOC and use any 'ol amp, i recommend this one: Navone Engineering N-RHL-2
N-RHL2 - BEST LOC IN THE WORLD!! - $24.95 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

same response as the other forum.

welcome to HAF!

Im a big fan of the Alpine V Power line. Theyre entry level but still very well made and will make their rated power. Ive owned a few of them and theyve all been dead silent in terms of noise and worked great. That would be the one Id vote for.
