Key fob question
Hey everyone, new guy here. I have a 99 Honda Accord EX, sedan, 5 spd, 120000. I just bought the car the other day. I know how time tested these vehicles are, and I came across this car and the deal was right so I picked it up. Anyways hope I can learn and help on this site. Enough with the introductions, I have a question. When these Honda's were sold new, did they come with a key fob, or at least did the EX come with one? My car does not have one, but it does have the Honda security and power everything so I kind of think that it came with a key fob. Anyways if it did come with a key fob, can I buy one, and get it programmed for a reasonably low price? Thanks in advance for any help.

Both Accords I had-had key fobs with them...

Well just to give an update. I have also joined up with a couple other forums for Honda's, and I got a great PDF from one guy. I will share it with you. Basically I can go and get a Key fob from numerous vendors, all run about $50 per fob, anyways, they are fully programmable by yourself. It's pretty sweet. For my Honda, the info is on page 8. Thanks for the reply's.

I have seen the programmable ones but I have never seen a success story with them other than the people posting their story and selling them. I see a lot where people cant get them to program. not saying you cant do it. just saying that anytime you order something like that, that you run the risk of it not working.

if it works thats awesome. let me know how it works out. It would be nice to know of a way to do it and it work. I know honda wants an arm and a leg for just about any service they offer.

This is the site that I am going to purchase from. They look pretty good and reliable. I am also going to get an extra key, take it down to the dealer and get them to cut it for me. Hopefully they can do this at a very reasonable price (free).... lol. We can always wish. Oh yeah and these do look to be OE key fobs.
