LED Conversion Trouble
So I purchased some LED's for my clock and my dash gauges and I put the one in the clock and instead of showing purple or purple-blue like it should it is very dark blue and is pretty much impossible to see at night. Not sure if there is some sort of film inside the clock I can take out to let more light through or if there is a way to fix this. Any help is appreciated before I change all my others and can't see how fast I'm going or where my gas is.
Thanks. |
yes, there certainly can be a filter in there. i've been meaning to swap the bulbs for LED's.
i think using a white LED would be a good first step. taking the units apart isn't a big deal except for the instrument cluster which shouldn't be taken apart. my recollection is the stock bulbs were incandescent with a green cap on the bulb. is that what you replaced? did you hook up the bulbs by themselves to verify the color? |
LED's are directional. the color out of the sides can be different than the color out of the front.
