looking for subwoofers for a 2002 accord

i am looking to get some subs for my accord this week end, i was at first thinking to get 2 12 inch rockford fosgate p1, but now i am thinking twice about those, i think they will be too much bass and might end up rattling everything in my car, am i overthinking it or, what would be a better alternative would 1 12 inch be enough? i don't want too much bass that my car windows and bumpers start cracking, or will the 2 12 inches be good? thanks

i use to run multiple 12's but for the past 10 years i've mostly just ran one 12" sub. the challenge is pairing the sub with the amp - and that is done with voice coil selection (dual or single and what impedance). typically, with a single sub you want a dual voice coil sub so you can run at a lower impedance and get more power out of the amplifier.

what amp are you planning on running?

also, with one sub you can optimize the enclosure and a more efficient enclosure can outperform two subs in a constrictive enclosure.

best location for a single sub is the passenger rear corner. i will face my sub into the corner, or face it up.

while you're looking through my build logs (links in sig) you'll see i ran a 12" sub without an enclosure, just in a wall between my rear seats and trunk. note that my rear deck was fully sealed. this is called "infinite baffle" and with the right sub, you get awesome bass with no loss in trunk space.

here's a review i did on the Ultra Subs A-12 subwoofer. For the price (Under $200), it's the best 12" sub i've used in the past 20 years.

The Image Dynamics ID12 D4 V.4 is a good option as well, and suitable for IB or sealed or ported.

I had excellent results with an ID10 in a Scion xB - in a vented enclosure it sounded like a pair of 12's
