Default Extra Infinity Tweets - series or parallel

Hi:

I purchased an extra pair of infinity tweeters just to get the trim rings as my other ones cracked. I have the Kappa components in front with the 5.25" and 1" tweeters. The extra tweeters have their own Hi-pass crossovers and I'm considering hooking them in parallel with the main feed coming from my JL 45 W. amp. I already tried paralleling the two sets of tweeters on the post side of the component crossover and it didn't seem right. I curious if anyone has done this and a suggestion or two would be welcome.

thanks

you would need to parallel the tweeters with the full range inputs to the crossovers, since they have their own crossover. you don't want to add parallel tweeters on the load side of the crossover because that will change the impedance and the crossover frequency for all of them.

my question is why you want more tweeters? i think Kappa tweeters are painfully bright to begin with. i'd just save them incase you damage the ones you have now. spares are nice to have.

where are they located now?

Default Mo' tweets, Mo' tweets

Tweets are located in the upper door panel in front of the door handle.
Painfully bright?... my take is very smooth and articulate. I also have been toying with the idea of adding them to the rear end as well. I have Infinity 3-way 6x9s mounted under the factory rear deck where the original speakers were.
I really only hear lows and mids from back there.
I really trust your acoustic input... Do you think I'd be screwing up time alignment and focus if Idid that.
Spares may be the answer as you suggested.

thanks, tp

go ahead and toss them behind you, firing forward. that should balance out your sound.
