New Sound System Unit

I have a 2006 Honda Accord LX. What are some speakers that i can get for the front doors and rear deck that will sound nice without breaking the bank. Inform me on all types please. Whether i need amps, crossovers, etc. I'd like to buy it all at once and install it all together rather than put it together piece by piece.

Thank you!

how much are your limbs worth?

My what?

sorry. i misread what you posted. i see now you said breaking the bank. when I was replying in my head I was thinking you said costing an arm and a leg. anyways, what is your budget. Breaking the bank means different things to different people.

1000 dollars IMO is a good price range for a full overhaul without breaking the bank. I realize that is a lot of money, it is by no means easy for me to spend a thousand dollars, but that is what it usually ends up costing in parts when I do a full overhaul on a car for someone.

thanks Neo.

you need to define the budget with a number. everyone's bank is sized differently. :)

+ you can figure no less than $200 for good front components.
+ no less than $150 for rear coaxial (if you use rears at all).
+ a 4 channel amp for them will run you $200-400 for budget-friendly gear.
+ the amp should include a high-level input and auto-turn-on for easy interface with the OEM head unit.
+ you will want a pair of wire harnesses 70-1721 and 71-1721 so you can intercept factory wiring without cutting.
+ you will need plenty of speaker wiring to reach front to rear twice. once to get the signal to the amp and again to reach the speakers. figure 15ft. per run, x6 plus extra. so at least 100' - 150' of wire. 4-condutor CL2 wire makes it easier.
+ an amplifier installation kit will include power/ground wires, ring terminals, fuse holder, etc.

+ speaker install will require mounting brackets.
+ the install will require tools, crimpers, strippers, terminals/connectors, wire loom, zip ties, etc.

Yes. All this help is perfect. $1000 would be perfect but I want to have really good set up for that money. Can you guys send me suggestions to what speakers and subs, and amps and all that stuff? I want awesome sound with some nice bass. I'd love to play it loud without breaking any of the speakers or powering everything out.

neophyte 05-27-2013 09:44 PM

I like precision power speakers and amps and GPI subs.

pguerrero1316 05-29-2013 02:42 PM

Okay. How does this sound.

-Kicker KS6.2's for the front speakers.
-Kicker 40CSS654's in the rear deck
-MTX TNP212D2 Bass Package for the trunk

Here are the links.

I realize that the subwoofer package comes with an amp. Is this a good setup? Could i add an amp for the other four speakers to make it sound better? And if so, what kind? Preferably off Crutchfield. What do you guys think? I want good sound.

neophyte 05-29-2013 09:16 PM

I dont like kicker. TBH. and you are spending way too much buying from crutchfield. there warranty and customer service really isnt better than a lot of other people's. they just say it is.

what is it, specifically, about kicker that you like?

why are you going with that bass package? a higher end single 12 with more power in a better box will get louder and sound better than those will.

to each his own, I am just trying to understand why you chose those and what you are looking for. either to help save you some cash, or find you nicer stuff for the same price.

(I really, really dont like kicker)

I'm just trying to find something. Can you out together a sweet package?
