Default P-eo

Hi!

I'm not really sure where I should exactly post this, so please forgive me if this isn't the right forum but...
I drive a 2000 Honda Accord, and in the last month or so, my CD player will read P-EO after inserting a CD. Most of the time it would eventually end up working, but in the past week, it hardly works at all. From a little research, I'm understanding this to basically mean that the CD player is failing. I have read to try a cleaning disc first to see if that helps, but eventually I'm guessing that it will just have to be replaced...
Any tips? Or any (cheaper) ways to help it work?

Thanks

I think it means player optical error. You can try the CD cleaner. If that doesn't work, then something is up with the laser or the pickup, and you'll likely have to replace it.

Right here is usually the best place, but for THIS one, I'll move it to A/V Electronics. That's where the sound-gurus hang out.

Thanks Jim.

Sounds like a disc read error. You can try a CD lens cleaner (the kind with small brushes on a CD with a solvent) to clean the optical pickup.

I'm selling my 2001 6-disc in the classifieds section if you decide to go with a OEM replacement.
