PLEASE HELP! Accord Stereo Has NO Power

PLEASE HELP! I posted this the week before last but the only reply was from the moderator who told me he moved it to this section.

I have a 2001 Accord EX V6. While driving yesterday I went to turn on the stereo...and NOTHING! No power. The tuner display is blank (no light). I cannot eject any CDs. No error messages and I am not asked for a code (again, the display is dead, too). Zippo.

I checked the fuse in the dashboard (number 9, passenger side) and it is fine. When I lock the car, the stereo's anti theft light does not come on.

Everything else seems to work perfectly! I have never had a single problem with the stereo, or the car in general. It's the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Can anyone help?

Either the unit is just dead or there is a fuse somewhere that is blown. Wouldn't hurt to check all fuses.

is it a stock stereo? if not sometimes theres a fuse on the back of aftermarket HU

I pretty sure it's stock since he mentions the ant-theft light, and security code.

Thanks for your reply to the above thread. I did check the radio/lighter fuse (#9) in the dasboard (passenger side) and the backup fuse (#12) under the hood. Are you suggesting I check all 50 fuses or other ones in particular?

And you were correct, it is the original unit that came with the car when I purchased it new.

Given that it has worked perfectly from the day of purchase, I thought it odd that it just went dead overnight without any interim problems.

Honestly I'm not at all the person to be giving advice on this, but a blown fuse on another circuit can cause weird problems on other circuits. With a fuse checker you can check all the fuses pretty quickly and easily. Also if you have the repair manual for your car, check to see if there is a self resetting circuit breaker for the radio. I don't think there is, but what do I know. Circuit breakers can go bad.

Thanks t00fatt. I appreciate your help and time. You too logan. Fingers crossed...

No thanks deserved here, what I think you should do is head over to the 6thgen forums, maybe they can help you there. I really don't mess around with any other forums so I can't really point you in the right direction. Maybe even trying the general tech help forum here will help. Good luck with your problem, I know the nightmare that electrical problems can be.
