Power draw from parking lights...
 

I'm not very good with electronics, but say I wanted to wire up an array of LEDs and tap power from my parking lights. Can I draw 300mA or ~3.6W safely from that circuit? I don't know if the parking lights are on the same circuit or what but it would be on both sides so the toals would be 600mA or ~7.2W. Thanks

you can power leds by running a remote wire to your sub amp

I'd run the switch side of the relay from the parking lights and the load side from the battery with an inline fuse. That way, you get the control that you want and draw the power from the battery. I don't think such a small draw would be an issue, but you're better off playing it safe.

Okay, well I was going to keep this on the DL, but I don't want to fack anything up.

When I blackhouse my headlights and remove the lower amber strip I'm going to replace it with 75 592nm LEDs on each side. Now, I know that my Halos could tap right into the parking light wiring because they were, what, 4 LEDs each side? I would like them to operate the same as the parking lights. So, how do I go about tapping the parking light switch and draw current from the battery? Also, it's only a 0.6A draw, do they make a 1A fuse?

This thread should have a lot of the info that you need. I noticed that the picture of the relay disappeared, but if you look it up, I think most number the points the same.

You can get a 1 Amp glass fuse

I've attached the wiring diagram I have done so far, it doesn't have relays yet.

Also attached is a DWG foryou AutoCAD users, *cough* falkore *cough*. Feel free to add your ideas and reattach it.

EDIT: Okay, I can't upload the DWG, so if you want it say so and I'll e-mail it.

EDIT: falkore, could you draw a relay wiring diagram with labels in paint/CAD so I can see exactly how to wire it? Thanks.

I think the first relay on the page would work fine. You have 12V switch and load, so any higher works also. The Amp rating should be about 30% higher than what you need as a minimun, but higher just means larger wires (basically). The resistance is so that you don't need an external resistor on the switch side.
