Questions about installing a sub to a factory system

Okay so ive been reading around on the fourms and have herd serveral things.
(car is a 2008 accord, premium version, 7 speaker.
Im going to run a postive wire, and groudn it for a 250 watt sub/amp
now the part im lost at is what exactly is a LOC?
ive herd that you can do one of two things, get a crossover for the sub signal and use that, or splicing into the rear speakers? how would i go about doing so? newst car ive installed a system on is like a 2003.. didnt know **** got quite complicated recently. is there a "
OEM Car Stereo Intergration" i can purchase for the car to get the rca connections isntead of splicing cables?

I dont know about a unit that will give you preouts. I do know about a LOC.

LOC- Line Out Converter.

splicing into the wire really is not that hard. in fact, an LOC is probably going to be your easiest way. I suggest pulling the head unit and splicing in behind it. you have plenty of room for an loc behind the cubby. you aren't splicing into any cables. the LOC will have wires on one end about the same size as the speaker wire. you tie those into the factory wire. the other end will have pre-outs. you will plug your rca's into that. probably the easiest part of the install aside from setting the box in the trunk.

this is plug and play, and gives you RCA outputs and a remote turn-on. essentially a LOC with auto turn-on but plugs into Honda harnesses.

a stand alone LOC is also an option, requires you tap wires. this is a good one:

did you already buy the amp? most amps have high level inputs, some have auto turn-on so you don't need to derive a remote turn-on yourself.
