Is this a good radio for a 2000 accord ex? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product, I bought it with out thinking about asking about it. Would it be hard to install one of these on my own like could i get it done in a day?

Looks like a good product for a Honda Accord.

It can be done in a day. The biggest challenge is removing the trim pieces w/o damaging/breaking them. Take your time! Suggest downloading a shop manual from Online Manuals DIY links to help you understand what needs to be removed and to guide this task. Check DIY links for help w/ trim removal. It's similar for all Accords. Check youtube for possibility of a video of someone doing this job.

Even if you don't get finished car would be driveable w/ trim removed until you finish. Not pretty but functional.

two screws under the trim piece, one behind the clock/hazard assembly (pops out to reveal screw).

with the trim piece loose, disconnect the A/C control harnesses.

four 10mm bolts hold in the factory radio.

You'll need the wire harness adapter
Metra 70-1721

And a mounting kit
Metra 99-7895

i could do it in about 30 minutes. the most time is spent connecting the new radio harness to the Metra wire harness (just matching colors, solder, heatshrink). if you don't solder, good crimp connectors and heat shrink is also acceptable.

Do not cut the factory wire harness off. Do not just twist wire and wrap with electrical tape. A good mechanical connection is required. Electrical tape is fine for an outside bundle wrap,but heat shrink and zip ties are better. Tape comes off and leaves a sticky residue.

Ohhh, I forgot to post I finished the project, I had the guys at Best Buy do the wiring for me for free and bought the deck kit and put it in myself. It really did take about 30mins to take it apart and put it back together.
