rear speaker replacement for stocks
 

So, I'm thinking I'll start off small with my upgrades. I currently have all stock speakers and HU. I heard a rear speaker system will really make it sound better than the stocks. I want to get kappa 692.7i's for the rear, but they are a 2 ohm rating. Would this work on the accord 2006 coupe? I heard it's a drop replacement which I can easily do ;-)

as long as the size is right most decks can adjust for the ohm rating... I'd say your fine with getting them but they are going to sound 10x better when you get a new deck.

*blinks* decks adjust for ohm rating? since when? that 50watt max is based on 4ohm.... unless the deck says it can handle 2 ohm you will end up burning it out

So these speakers are actually 2.6 ohm and infinity guarantees they will run on all stock HUs

you can make a 1 ohm speaker run on any thing as well, but it doesnt mean it will work forover, checking the specs on the deck is the only way to be sure

if you do plan on going with the speakers, run them in series off of one of the rear channels. The only factory radio's i have ever seen handle a 2 ohm load on a channel was if it had an upgraded factory sound system like bose or infinity. But if you run them in series, it will bring the speakers to a 4 ohm load and you will have no problems with frying the deck. The only thing is you would lose the feature of balancing on your radio for the rears since only one channel would be used.

2.6ohm in series = 5.2ohm so you wouldnt be getting the proper power to it anyways...... 10watts maybe? but a speaker thats 2.6ohm usually means running off an amplifier
