security alarm on the radio
 

gonna be doing my girlfriends radio on her car here sometime in the summer. its a 99 honda accord lx. she said she heard where this is something of a security alarm thing that if the stock radio is removed then that could possibly mess things up in the future. any ideas on this?

There is a security code on the factory radio that needs to be entererd if power is removed. But once the radio is out, the car is a breeze to work on. One of the easiest I've done. The system is simple, no factory amps, no integration, just an HU, wires, and speakers.

ok so once i remove the stock radio that security thing no longer applies correct? all i have to do is install the installation kit, wire harness, and radio and im good to go? iv don a radio once before but it was on my car (ford focus) i don know how much stuff changes in the hondas.

you got it. the 98-02 Accords are so simple. a great platform for a sound system.
