Blown Speaker Replacement Help - 1995 Accord LX

My brother blew the **** out of the speakers in my car, so any bass note at all, on any volume sounds like garbage. I don't know much about sound systems, although they're kinda simple in a round-about way. I've been looking around on crutchfield and have been finding some things, but I don't know what size my speakers are, and don't know how to check.

6.5 in the front
6x9 in the back.

Thank you. Although Crutchfield says the Kicker DS6.2s will fit in the rear deck, even though the Kickers are 6.5 diameter. Will this be a problem?

shouldnt be. you may have to cut a baffle or trim some metal, but shouldnt be too hard.

You said the rear speakers are 6x9, correct? Crutchfield doesn't seem to think so. I'm not trying to prove you wrong or anything, I just want to be sure. If they're 6x9s I'll buy thse Alpine SPS-609's instead. Cheaper, and better sound.

not 100% on the rear deck. there are adapters I know for the newer cars that fit 6.5s in the rear. which is what I have in mine. let me do some research and I will get back to you.

crutchfield is telling me they are 6x9s for a 95 accord dx sedan. do you have a different trim pack?

I have the LX trim I believe.

crutchfield will include 6x9 to 6.5 adapters if you buy speakers from them. that is why they say they fit. a 6.5 will easily be adapted to fit a 6x9 hole.

I want to get the 6.5 JBL for front doors and the 6x9 JBL for the rear deck, Some models say that they don't fit. Is it just the mounting hole pattern that's wrong? Or is it the depth?

I can make a set of adaptor plates using birch plywood or MDF at work to adapt the hole pattern, but I want to keep the factory look, and I think that if I only follow the Crutchfield fit guide I won't be able to get the big magnet and voice coil models that I want.
Any advice? or can I use most models of 6.5 for the doors as long as I am prepared to make the adaptor plates to fit the specific speakers?

it just depends on the front on how much you are willing to modify. remeber that pushing the speaker forward is pushing it into the door panel. you may have to trim the door panel so the speaker will fit. if you are willing to make baffles and trim some metal you can make whatever you want fit there.
