Stock Speakers in a 91 Accord Ex 4dr? 6" or 6.5"
 

I just got a 91 accord EX 4 door...I had the stereo put in and there were no speakers so I need to have speakers put in, but the guy said they needed to be 6".....does he mean 6.5" I'm having a hard time finding 6" speakers? where can I find what are the stock holes in the door and the rear panel? thanks

yes. you just need a mounting adapter. Crutchfield is a good place to buy online that will include everything you need.

A mounting adapter for the wiring..I noticed the speaker cables that run to the speaker area in the back panel have connectors on them...do I need to buy the other side of the connector for the speakers..or do I need to buy some kind of kit for the actual mounting for the screws ......I just want something simple and basic...I have a stereo installed...no speakers....go figure....6.5" is what I need for the front door speakers and the back rear panel as well? so 4 6.5" speakers?

No they mean a mounting adapter so you can put a 6.5" speaker. Everyone says thosee speakers are 6.5" but they must be nuts because I had to make my own mount for the rear considering the stock speakers are 6" and the new ones were 6.5". I think the door speakers were 6" also. Id have to look.

Thats what I was told....they were 6" speakers that were stock....but I can't find any speakers that are 6"...only 6 1/2" speakers.... so I need an adapter to fit any 6.5" speakers? so it's a mounting adapter?...same for the doors and the rear panel?

Honestly, I would just make one out of wood since it was pretty easy and simple to do for me. You can buy adapters. Its basically just a plate with a bigger speaker hole in it to mount the speaker into. There are 6" speakers but they are hard to find for some reason. I guess no one really makes them anymore.

This is what we are talking about. These should fit your car if you want to just buy them. I think they are only for the rear though.

those brackets are for 6x9" holes to mount in 6.5" or 5 1/4"...they aren't for 6" holes......This shouldn't be so difficult...they are 6" holes....found some Kickers on amazon for $27 a pair... they are 6"....but not alot of people make 6" speakers that for sure...

I"ve looked all over this forum and different forums...I guess I'll just have to measure myself..some say 5" some say 4" some say 6x9" in the doors....and in the back panels for the different models SX LX ...I have the EX model 1991 Honda Accord 4 dr sedan....I don't know what to believe except my own measurements...I just don't want to pull the door panels off just to find the right size....rear panel is fine..I can see those from the trunk....just don't know what is in the doors.....can anyone tell me what is in the doors of a 1991 HOnda Accord EX 4 door?....Anyone...Beuller??
