hey guys, i just got a new pair of 07 kicker comp c10 10" subs...not my first pair...justa new pair. it is however my first NEW pair. are subs not as loud until they getlike broken in or something? or should they be as loud as they go as soon as you take them outta the box?

usually im pretty sure people wait to go almost full- full blast until the cones are worn in otherwise u might blow them. just a good precaution

They have to break in. All are stiff from the manufacturing process and will sound remarkably better after some playing time. This is true of regular full range speakers too.

Knew that about subs, not for speakers though! Thanks for the advice!:D

Though, im thinking that may be why one of new LA speakers is quieter than the other one[>:]

Speakers are mechanical devices with a motor and moving parts. So just like a car's engine, they need to break in over time. Shouldnt be too long tho, a week usually.
