System questions

Getting an 02 Accord Coupe and I was looking to get some nice sound to go with it. I have a Kenwood head unit already and I want to add on. I have never bought subs or anything so I need some advice. I don't want two 12's in my trunk because I want at least some room. Should I maybe get some tweeners or some door speakers? I want some bass but Im just primarily concerned about the audio. I want some loud ****.

how loud? budget? (i sell some loud subs btw, dont know where you live so dont know if I would be your rep. But I know I can hook you up with a GPI rep in your area) tweeters are good, door speakers are good, subs are good, but if you want to get loud, there are two key components. Power and time.

These are GPI's and this is two twelves in a civic.

I got 1 Sony Xplod 1200W Sub powered by a 1000W Sony Xplod amp and I'll tell you what, it hits hard enough for me and others to clearly hear. It's not so loud that makes other cars shake, but that's not my style. But in short, Sony Xplod is really good for the money. But if you want others windows to break lol, deff need what neophyte said, plus money

to be totally honest. people put a lot of emphasis on brand. when it comes to subs, the box is the biggest thing. I have seen people in 0-600 class doing a hairtrick with a single ten. take your time do a nice build and it will turn out good. sony has a bad name when it comes to car audio but honestly they dont make a bad product.

i put the largest emphasis on music - so my front door speakers get most of my attention. subs are the last thing i worry about. after i get speaker sounding great, and with good midbass, i bring subs into the equation.

i also amplify my speakers, no head unit powers my speakers. my build log should give you plenty of ideas - you don't have to do everything I did, but a few of the steps is a good starting point.

loud comes from cleanly amplified speakers.
