Wiring through spoiler?
id like to remove the spoiler on my trunk, just because imo it looks ridiculous.
there is a brake light in it, 4 screws holding it in, i searched for this and found nothing. being the non-mechanical person i am, could i remove it myself without hurting any wiring? any input would be very much appreciated. |
RE: Wiring through spoiler?
There's prolly a connector for the brake light somewhere in the trunk. look for a connector somewhere on the trunk lid that looks like it came from one of the spoiler sides.
if you can't find it, remove the spoiler and you shoudl see the wire and be able to pull it and see where it connected or just cut it, cap the ends, and trace it out later. It'd be better to unhook a connector, but there is a chance that it's been hardwired |
RE: Wiring through spoiler?
without hurting wiring? yea sure. just cut the wires and crimp them together. The bad part is that the underside of the spoiler will mostly have holes and no paint underneath it.

RE: Wiring through spoiler?
There should be paint, just holes too. Make sure you cover up the bare metal to prevent rust.
