Wish to Install Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I would like to install steering wheel Audio Controls on my 2003 Accord LX, how would I go about doing this? Is this a big deal, or even possible? Diagrams, charts and everything would be super helpful! Or a step by step guide? Do I need to get a whole new steering wheel or just add some buttons?

what head unit? factory?

you an buy OEM from HondaPartsDeals.com

or you can look on eBay or salvage yards for the buttons. you just need the buttons, then wiring between it and the HU.

if aftermarket, a PAC SWI-X would intercept the button signal for use with aftermarket hu.

Got some buttons oem from quickhondaparts.com, great website to get things from guys! really!! Now I'm just wondering, would anyone happen to have a part number for me for the wiring that goes from the radio to the wiring for the controls??

It may or may not be possible, as the audio tuners were different for a LX 4 cylinder vs. an EX-L 4 cylinder that had the remote switch. You probably have to change one or more wire harness and even possibly the OEM audio unit. The remote switch goes through the cable reel sub-wire harness and then through another harness to the audio unit; different cable reel sub-wire harness were used. The harness to the audio unit I believe is also different. There is the possibility the OEM audio unit for a LX may work with the remote switch with the correct wire harnesses; I'm not sure on that though.

To replace the cable reel sub-wire harness requires removal of the steering wheel airbag.

Removal of the steering wheel airbag doesn't bother me, I've done it once already, but do you have any idea of how I can get a cable reel sub harness? where I can get one, or what the part number is that's correct?
