FilterMag dealers in Canada
 

Anyone know who carries the FilterMag in Canada? Looking to try one on my '13 Touring V6. Thanks,HB

According to FilterMag,they have no dealers in Canada. I went with something else anyway...Black Hole filter magnets. HB

Question: Why bother with a filter magnet? The fact is that the engine in your car will long outlast the rest of the car without using something with as dubious a value as a filter magnet.

I dunno....I think that trapping the metal particles that the filter misses would be a good thing,but if they don't work,we can always use some super strong spare fridge magnets. Hot Brass

My take on it is that if there are metal fragments in the oil large enough to do any damage at all, you've got MUCH bigger problems than anything a magnet will be able to cope with. That and given the high percentage of non-ferrous metals used in modern engines, I'm betting that less than half of the metals held in suspension by engine oil will even be affected by the magnet.

FWIW, I just looked at a Used Oil Analysis report from one of my former vehicles which had an iron block V6 with aluminum heads, and I see that when taken as a whole, the metals in solution were 133 parts per million, of which iron was only 45, which is just over one third of all of the metals. I guess I should have seen if I could place that bet before I looked it up. :)
