HAZY HEADLIGHTS!
 

Hi I really need some help please. I wet sanded my headlights then fallowed up with some 3m polishing compound. The headlights looks brand new when i'm driving in the morning but when i turn on the headlights at night there's a light film of hazy over the top of the headlights. I try using more 3m polishing compound,3m plastic polish and plastic x polish but none seem to work and i don't have a buffer any suggestions of how to get rid of it?

Idk if I've seen it but toothpaste could be used to get rid of the haso, I did it on my last car and it worked suprisingly. But when u do it scrub it with a toothbrush and use hot water

Sounds like you simply didn't cur through the whole layer of "haze" on the lens cover. Are you sure you consistently sanded the whole thing and got everything off? Maybe try hitting it again with a fine wet sand paper? When done with that procedure keep a good coating of wax on them to help fight it from returning.

My dude, if you have not already availed yourself of ChrisFix's Youtube channel, please allow me to introduce you to this gem of a guy: I did this to my headlights and they look brand new. My dad wants me to attack his truck's headlights next, he's so impressed with how they turned out!

As far as what you did, it sounds like you're just missing a last step of sealing everything up. You've probably removed the original (gross, yellow) factory sealer by doing your sanding routine, but now you need a clear coat. I used the clear coat for plastic that Chris recommends in the video. Worked a treat!

I have the same problem, i have used toothpaste. After applying toothpaste with brush, wait ~5 minutes. Then wash it with water. Clean with a cloth sensitively. That 's it.
