quarter panel repair

does this look repairable for an amateur at home with basic tools? i never did any body work before, besides paint some wheels, but if it just involves wire brushing/bondo/paint then i think i could do it. or should i take it to a professional?

don't ask what its from, have no idea. ;) almost looks like someone shot it with a shotgun.

Its hard to say exactly, depends on the outcome you want. Looks like the bottom is the most damaged but hardest to see in the picture. You might be able to get it to look "decent" by yourself, but the proper way to fix this would be to cut off the entire quarter panel and weld on a new one. This of course would cost probably 3-4x what the car is worth for a professional to do.

ooh i thought maybe a couple hundred to have it done. i do have some buddies who weld, but not me. i don't need it to look new just better than what is there now.

Even with the new panel a professional painter is going to charge a mint to paint it, because at the minimum they would want to repaint that whole side of the car, but probably the entire car otherwise it won't match.

I fully agree with you on that Rice..anything else would just constitute shoddy work..IMO.. :)
