Hey Colondo, I guess I'll find out soon enough. My 36mm socket shipped today. :)

Well today was my day of reckoning.

The spindle nut came right off with my impact. The ball joint nut came off and the joint separated easily.

Then it was on to the control arm bolt. The nut spun right off. And lo and behold the bolt came out fairly easily.

So thankfully everything went fairly straight-forward. And what a difference. The old joint had gotten pretty bad. The boot had gotten torn, with the expected results.

On my road test I can now detect very faint noise from the cv joint on the opposite side on turns. So I guess I'll get to do an R&R on that side soon as well.

Then I thought about yours Colondo. What was it - 1 hour for one side. And 3 weeks for the other?

Passenger Side Axle removal

Everything was going good, until I went to pry out the axle on my 2005 accord ed sedan. I am unable to figure out how to pry or even knock the axle off. There's like no room to access it. TO make matter worse, I ended up pulling on the shaft and it's disengaged from the inner boot. I'm contemplating cutting off the inner boot to see if I can get the shaft back in to turn it. How do you knock the axle off of the trans-axle?

You should be able to insert a pry bar between the axle end housing and the transmission housing and pry.

I have also used a hefty pry bar end against the CV axle end and hit the other pry bar end w/ a hammer to jar the CV housing loose.

good luck
