Replacing ac compressor.

I am looking on line to find a new ac compressor. I own a 93 and the ac has been bad. I charged it and it worked for a bit but the thing has totally let go now. I put some dye in and the big place i am finding it is on the back side of the compressor. No other place and i mean ther is a bunch of it. I want to make sure i get the right compressor and am wondering if there is any diff between ex and other models. Thanks in advance for the help.

It would help if you would describe you trim level.

ackits has a good rep for quality rebuilt and new compressors.

I've had good results w/ used compressors, but you can pick a dud occasionally. Part of the risk/reward equation.

Suggest taking the opportunity to completely overhaul your system and convert to R134a. New orings on expansion valve and thermal bulb in evaporator housing, new orings on all jts, new receiver/drier.

You should go to DE PAG for your lubricant. At least 5 oz. I've used up to 8 oz w/o problems.

Vacuum system for at least 30 mins and check for vacuum to hold at least 15 mins w/ no drop.

good luck
