01 accord won't start!

I pulled up to the light might have stalled out easily or just died when I came to a stop.. Not sure. I thought it was the battery. Tried getting a jump almost started but didn't. I've done EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF! Hit fuel tank, hit starter. I've done everything please help me.. It's a 01 accord ex ulev-tec motor the 4 cylinder.. Thank you.

Ok, need a bit of info - When you turn the key to "start" - what is the starter doing?

When you turn the key to "on"/PosII does the CEL come on for a few seconds and then go off? If so, during this/that time can you hear the fuel pump prime - kind of hard to hear, anything that makes noise needs to be turned off (radio, blower motor, door closed so no "chime", ect).

Is this an auto or manual trans?

Do you have a volt meter or test light for some additional testing?

Any recent work done to the car?

All lights light up. Abs, Srs, maintenance req, battery, oil, cel. Most turn off after a couple seconds but the CEL stays on longer (like 12 secs) then turns off. My starter makes like a ticking noise now. It wasn't last night. It almost started with the cables connected but didn't. I can borrow my friends meter. Thanks.

Get the meter and or have the battery pulled and tested at a store - most part stores will do this for free. A "rapid ticking" sound from the starter is "sometimes" a sign of a weak battery.

Inspect and clean the battery cables - check the "other end" of the neg cable where it connects to the body and then to the trans/engine as well. Be sure they are clean and tight.
