06 accord V6 engine removal.
hey guys, so I have an 06 accord with the 3.0 V6 and automatic trans. I need to put an engine in. according to alldata they say support the engine, remove the sub frame, move it aside and then drop the engine out the bottom. my question is can I just leave the engine attached to the subframe and drop it all out at once out the bottom? just put some jack stands down and lift the body off? I don't understand why I would have to separate them. OR should I leave the subframe in and take it out from the top? it looks like it would come out the top fairly easy. I have access to a lift, an engine hoist, a trans jack, and pretty much every tool available so that's not an issues. any help would be appreciated.
thanks guys!!! |
Alldata is tailored to folks with full-on shops complete with hoists, lifts, and jacks of all sorts. For the shade-tree mechanic (like me), pull the sucker out from the top. :)

Thanks for that. Some guys there say you can leave the motor attached to the subframe and drop them out together but not really an official answer. As of now that's my plan
