06 V6 Accord - General Info

Hi everyone.

Just bought a 2006 EX V6 Accord.
A few things:
1. When should I do the first oil change?
2. The manual says that timing belt change interval is 60,000 if I driver under extreme conditions (-20C, +40C) or so. What's the actual recommended service interval?
3. Is this an interference engine? If the belt snaps, am I in trouble?

Thanks.

where do you drive that its -4F to 104F? and i would imagine that oil changes would occur sooner. As for timing belt, im not quite sure about that

I'm pretty sure that is an interference engine and if the manual says 60k then do it. I would not mess around with the timing belt at all. If you are not in 'extreme conditions' the interval is around 90-100k or 6 years which ever comes first.

NORMAL DRIVING

oil change every 10K

Timing belt at 105K (some dealers inspect and say come back at 120K)

if the belt snaps you can look forward to a top end rebuild or a complete rebuild depending upon damage

Your car has a maintenance minder.....let the computer tell you when to change the oil.
