I really don't understand why everyone compares the Accord to the Si!! The Accord is superior to the Civic hands down. If Honda wanted the Si to be a better car then that would be the flagship not the Accord......

You cannot use a blanket statement like that if you hope to make a legitimate argument. When you say the Accord is a better car, what exactly do you mean? The Accord is without a doubt a much more luxurious vehicle than the Civic, the Accord definitely has a quieter ride, and more power for a "super cruise" on the highway, but the Civic Si will out handle the Accord to the point it could run circles around the Accord if we are going stock vehicle to stock vehicle. Straight line racing is an enjoyable stunt from time to time but if you are going to take one to a track, I'd be behind the wheel of the Si everyday of the week. I have driven both cars back to back and while the Accord has its place, it is not in the turns unless you are going to do some major suspension work. The reason the Accord is the flagship is because it appeals to a more affluent crowd who has more money, generally speaking a mother or father looking for a safe, reliable, comfortable vehicle to transport them and their children from point A to point B, as opposed to a fuel efficient, reliable car such as the Civic. At the end of the day the the Accord is a very, very exceptional vehicle and I plan on picking a new one up in the near future but lets not kid ourselves about what it is and is not. It can be a decent handling car but the sheer weight and overall intent of the vehicle are not one inclined towards a sporting nature.

All the better to turn it into a sleeper. :P I saw these Taurus SHO 445whp under the hood. Looked like a complete stock Taurus yet it ripped on this BMW like it was a play toy.

In reference to the accord's handling ..... I beat an AMG C32 at about 130 mph on a curve in the highway ..... nobody else on the road.

I've held 0.9g's and hit 0.95g's in a 2000 V6 sedan ..... and I'd bet the money that I put into the car doesn't even touch the upprice of the AMG over the Accord.

The Yamaha V6 or the 4.6L Mustang engine one?

The old SHOs are badass, so badass that Conan O'Brien drives one.

It also depends on the gearing of the two cars. I know the SI is focused more on racing, so it has shorter gear ratios. Really, the best test is to give the Stig the keys to both, but he doesn't do drag racing.

I believe it was still using the Yamaha V6. The engine bay was not terribly clean...but I mean if you're running a true sleeper...:P

If it was the old body style, then it was the V6. Only the newer, heavier Tauruses got the V8.
