1992 honda accord wagon h22a swap question

Hey guys i'm new to this site and i know most of what i need to know but there is still a few things i'm looking for about swaping my euro h22a/lsd auto tranny into my 92 accord wagon

so i know the motor mounts are the same and i can reuse my axles and etc.

but i plan on building the motor a little bit before i put it in like cam some head work etc. what do u guys think would be some good adds ons to do. this is going to be my daily driver/show car. but i do what it to had some balls i know the 200hp h22a will be a good replacment fot the stock f22a 125hp. but i want to shot for the 300-400hp range witht he h22a i'm don't want to turbo it i just want ti on motor i know it will be spending but its alll good with me

so anyones advice would be helpfull thanks i will put some pictures up of the car and keep it up dated as i work on it. i'm doing the body work first before i tear into the motor swap

300-400hp all motor will be very expensive and once its done will be unreliable. The most maxed out H22s are making 300-350hp.

This is with 12:1 or higher compression pistons, individual throttle bodies, sleeved blocks, 89 or 90mm bore, stroked cranks as high as 100mm.

For a build like that you are talking about $10,000 or more.

Just put nitrous on it. Easiest, cheapest way to add 75 hp (fairly) safely

well would turboing it be cheaper and easier?

More than likely, you can get a turbo kit for 2-3k. A stock H22 can't handle all too much boost safely.

I mean you can look up the Dyno sheets yourself for different applications. But for example a guy with these mods:

JDM H22A, Crower Stage 3 Cams (316 Duration), Ferrea Valvetrain, Mahle 11.5/1 Pistons, Crower Max Light Rods, Micropolished and Balanced Honda Crank, STR Throttle Body, AEM Fuel Rail, B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator, RC 440cc Injectors, Fidanza Cam Gears, Motorvations Cam Seal, Hytech Tri-Y Custom Header (2.5in Collector), K-Teller Exhaust Piping with Magnaflow Resonator, and ES Oval Muffler (All 2.5in), Cusco Oil Catch Can, Fluidyne Radiator with FAL Fan, Unorthodox Race Crank Pulley, Fidanza Flywheel, ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate with 6-Puck Unsprung Race Disc, Hondata S200 (Jim Helbing of Motorvations Tuned)

only made 226whp. all motor H22 really isnt worth it in my opinion. Now K series on the other hand.............................

turbo is the way to go if you want power... thou, as live2rice said, it will cost $$$. you need to get the internals ready to withstand the stress you will put on the engine by boosting... i spent around 2.8-3k and didn't touch internals...

92accordwagon 11-22-2009 01:21 AM

okay well i made a typo... but i know it doesn't make a big differnece i'll be getting the H23 Euro with tjhe auto tranny...

so what do u think a stock h23 would be able to handle for boost 10lbs?

but if u think all in all a 200hp motor over a 125hp will make the little accord haul ass to so honest less i don't need much more.. but i do love the sounds of a turbo blow off view

live2rice 11-22-2009 10:22 AM

10lbs would probably be pushing it. I wouldn't run more than 6-8lbs.

I think you will be surprised how much a 75hp increase is, I know I was when I did my H22 swap. With just bolt ons you can get them up to almost 200whp.

I say you just do the swap, put some bolt ons on, and then if you decide you want more power you can take it from there.
