1996 Accord Maintenance

Hello everyone. My co-worker who owns the above car with 110,000 miles is asking if her car needs a new timing belt and what else?

She doesn't know the history of the car. Only gets oil and filter changes. Maybe air filter.

I don't know if her car has a timing belt, chain, or gear driven camshafts so I can't answer her major question above.

Can you guys please give me an education as to what her 1996 Accord with 110k miles on it needs in terms of maintenance? How much will it cost? Recommend dealer, a specialized Honda shop, or just any automotive shop?

Thanks for the help.

yeah, some manuals recoment a timing belt change around 85k, but with more research i found out they can be changed and recommended by honda to change it at 105k. so you'll need a new timing belt.probably if it's automatic you'll need a new ATF (auto tranny fluid), filters would be a good idea to replace, especially for air conditioning. make sure the exhaust pipes are fine. also probably need to change an intake filter, unless the car has an aftermarket intake filter. spark plugs might need a change as well as spark plug wires. pretty much a complete tune up with a new timing belt, filter changes, spark plug changes would be a good idea.
