1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
My name is Blake Stressman and i have 1997 Honda Accord LX, with a 2.2L non-vtec, and i wanted to do a engine swap, but i can't decide which engine would be the best engine to build up. I was trying to pick from either the f20B sir-t or the h22a. Which one can handle more power and which one has more parts i can buy for it, since i want to turbo charge it and i want to take it to the drags.

RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
H22a in your case pretty much a drop in
|
RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
yo you should go with an h22 because for 1 its a simple drop in and you can turbo the hell out of it and still get every bit of power that you want. although the f20 sir-t is a great engine it is alot harder to find parts for

RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
H22/3a in stock form cannot handle a lot of boost (already high compression) if you want TURBO, F22B motor that is already in there and slap in a turbo kit

RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
h22 and f20b are both drop right in, neither one however is very good for turbos without forged internals.

Just rebuilt and thenturbo the stock motor...
Fergot...auto or manual? |
RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
The H22 needs to be sleved to turbo. If you want NA, slap the H23 head on your F22. For turbo, you can keep the F22 as is or throw the H22 head on it.

RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
It is a manual and i have never done a turbo kit before, what kind of engine internals need to be done to handle the turbo.

RE: 1997 Honda Accord Engine swap
Do you know of any places that sells f20 sirt engine parts. If so i would really like to know. I think i am going to go with the f20 just because less people have it. well thinks for your help... later
