2000 4cyl accord to a V6?

I have a 2000 Accord 4 cyl. 270,000 miles. the timing belt needs replaced and it leaks oil from a few different spots. I dont want to put money in this motor. I found a v6 from '02 accord. Will this swap work?

You'd need the ECU, transmission, wiring harness, motor mounts, probably all the accessories (a/c, power steering, etc), axles, different exhaust, etc.

Probably more effective to part yours out and look for another Accord.

more trouble than it's worth. Your better off selling your accord then buying a v6. But if you are looking performance wise. v6's are slower than the 4cyls and the v6 makes more power. If you want to do a swap look into a h22 swap. will be much faster than a v6 and more fun to drive

7th gen V6 cars are a lot quicker than the 7th gen 4 cylinder cars, V6 makes 240 hp vs 162 hp in the 4 cylinder cars. The 6 speed 7th gen V6 cars run mid 14s at nearly 100 mph, 5AT cars run around a 15 flat at 93-94 mph. A 4/5th gen with a stock H22 swap might be that quick but a 7th gen car weighs more.

Agree that the 6th gen V6 is definitely not worth the swap but an H22 swap wouldn't be particularly cost effective in a 7th gen car when the V6 cars are so readily available. Plus, the H22 works best with a manual and if his Accord is an automatic, then you have to do a transmission swap, add a clutch pedal, etc. With bolt-ons and TL Type S cams, there are several 7th gen V6 cars pushing 300 hp at the wheels.

4/5th gen car, definitely do the H22 swap if you can afford it. Maybe 6th gen too, not sure it is worth it with the more powerful V6 available in the 7th and 8th gen cars.

that's some good info Scott! Keep it coming we need someone on the forums who is familiar with the new accords. I'm mainly a 4th-5th gen guy. Good to know we have someone who can help out our 6th and 7th gen ppl.

Well, I do still miss my 4th gen...but I get the same mileage now with nearly double the horsepower!

Sounds like a nice way to get more power.

Swapping a V6 into an I4 6thgen CG chassis is not worth the work you'd put into it.. The list includes all of the above mentioned, and also fabrication of new motor mounts as well as swapping in a V6 subframe. There are many other little things as well.
