2001 Accord EX Gas Milage Suckage

Hello to all !! This is my first post, but after searching i still have many questions on the gas milage for my less then 6 year old car. I flashed the computer and it came up with no codes, and when i drive, car runs fine, and feels fine, no check engine light.

I have an SRS light on the dash, but i believe itwas just tripped (new battery) and i found the post on how to clear it. SO!

Why is my gas milage sucky? my O2 sensor isn't throwing a code, i read about the EGR valve... but that would ALSO throw a code... so why can i only get 250 miles per tank? i drive very reserved, no lead footing, tire pressure is good, new air filter, and it was just serviced at 104,000, currently at 116,000.

So whats going on? brake calipers aren't dragging, i cant think of anything thing else that would really kill my mileage. i was getting more then 350 miles a tank going pretty much exactly where i go now.

Thanks for everyones help! Thanks for having me!!!!!!
Erdie

The best way to monitor mileage is to fill up the tank and set the trip odometer to zero, then when you fill up next time divide the miles traveled by the gallons you put in the tank. Do this a few times to get an average.

How old are your spark plugs and wires? Do you have a 4 cyl or V6?
