96 Accord V6 EX

So I just purchased my first Accord (first Honda for that matter) it is a 96 Accord EX w/ a V6 with 85,000 miles.
(and it is stock)

I just have a few questions:

First what kind of general tune up things should I be doing at this millage? timing belt?

Second I have been looking for a after market intake and cant seem to find any for the V6, is there a reason for this?

Also other then intake and exhaust are there any other little tricks to get a little more out of it?

Thanks in advance,

I don't have a V-6 so won't be too specific...

Yeah, you have to plan on a timing belt pretty soon. Either 90k miles or 105k miles; Honda changed the recommendation somewhere along the line. Waterpump & maybe some idler pulleys are good to do along with the timing belt.

Spark plugs... Hondas seem to get along best with NGK & some people have reported troubles with Bosch plugs. Factory plug wires are excellent & they seem to last forever.

With a 4-cyl engine I'd say check/adjust the valve clearances. I don't know whether the V-6 needs that?

Drain & fill your auto-tranny fluid. If it's dirty or smells burned, drain & fill it again a few more times (drive around a day or 2 between). Honda auto trannys don't seem to get along with being "power-flushed". The torque converter doesn't drain, so you only get about 1/3 of the total fluid. Need about 2.5 quarts for each drain/fill.

Anti-freeze & brake fluid should be replaced every couple years just because they go bad with time (regardless of miles). Everyone seems to forget that. Power steering fluid has NO scheduled replacement interval but I refuse to believe that any fluid can last forever.

Any specific symptoms or strange behaviour to make you wonder if it's normal??
