96 Honda Accord Ex

Alright I'm 18 and and love with this car haha well i believe the engines a F22b1 with auto tran. It's all stock except for the sound :]]] lol and has 210,000 miles on it. Still running like a champ, my bro in law used it for commuting. Well I wanna start some engine work, but reading mainly from this forum which ill be daily reading this isnt very god to for this engine? if not would a swap be easy? but if it would be alright to do, what parts would i get, b/c ive found many sites specialized for my type of engine but am clueless. IDK im lost. What would be the best thing?

Again sorry for all this questioning. and thnx for taking time.

I personally am a fan of the H22 swap, straight forward swap, and end up with 200hp. A f22 needs a 75shot of nitrous to make the same whp as I did with my H22 with bolt ons.

However if you want to stick with the f22, dont expect more than 150whp naturally aspirated, could turbo it or nitrous it, and make 200ishwhp, but not sure how long it would last.

Sounds good to me, only thing is id put more money in rebuilding it nicer because i read a turbo wont fit if you swap into an accord? all the sites that have the h22s for sale come with this and that and the bracket set, is that the part id need to install in mine or would i have to get a specialized one? And is it just the H22A, cause i dont wanna screw this up. I'm planning doing it myself at my house...
-And whats the ecu for swapping?

Either of those will work, however you would never ever be able to pass inspection(or smog for that matter) with them. They are OBD1 motors, and your car is OBD2, so most of the emissions and diagnostic stuff isnt present on those motors. Any H22a or H22a1 will work, as well as some H22a4s(just cant be out of a prelude type sh, well it can be, just makes a whole lot more work).

There are 100 h22 swap guides online that will get into depth as to how to go about it, its not overly difficult.

so whats the deal with the h22 out of a prelude sh bein so much harder to swap? does it have a different wiring harness or something?

No because of the ATTS transmission, it has a really weird input shaft assembly, that takes some custom fab to get it to work. It has been done, just not worth the trouble.

ok so the h22a's obd2's have lsd transmission and should just go right in? and is computering hard to do with obd2's? and i searches and saw people have accord with h22's and turbo so im hopin i could fit one in after i swap. cant do it for a while, only have 2 grand saved now. But i do get paid under the table for tiling lol so should i be savin up to 4 or 5 grand?

Not all OBD2 H22s have an LSD tranny. I think the H22 type-s has the ATTS system that makes it hard to swap in. You can turbo a H22, but its not something I would recommend, not with a stock H22 anyways. Its a high compression motor which means its not good for boost. In order to make it a good boost more you would have to sleeve it and put in some low comp pistons. I have seen boosted H22s make over 800hp though.

Alright, that would be sweet. So is this more of what im looking for?

http://www.streetimports.com/product_details.asp?id=953

and it also says if putting in my accord to get ecu... whats that?

RE: 96 Honda Accord Ex

More or less, you dont need those motor mounts, or axles, and you really dont need the tranny, it will help with acceleration, but hurt gas mileage.

Try Hmotorsonline.com They have by far the greatest customer service
tigerjapanese.com has the best prices, but have mixed reviews.

ECU is the computer that controls the engine.
