98 Honda accord coupe LX

Hello, I have a 98 honda accord coupe and right now it's stock with automatic transmission, but I'm looking to swap it to a manual. I'm curious as to what engine I should switch to. I could use some help from the knowledge of others to help me decide which is best for the performance and doesn't murder your bank account.

A few questions.

Four or six cyl in the car now?

What are the state inspection laws where you live?

It's a V6 currently. And I am in texas. Willing to make fabrication to make it anything really.

Best bet, sell your car and buy something with a manual. The time and expense of trying to fit a manual to your car is exceedingly prohibitive.

I wasn't asking on if I should sell my car or not.

I get that, but switching a V6 to manual is a monumental undertaking. Why? Because there are basically no donor cars where you can source for parts which are more or less bolt in.

Think about it this way, switching a 4-cylinder automatic to a manual is a huge undertaking, and parts for that swap are readily available.

I am a manual transmission bigot, and if it was even remotely possible I would be sorely tempted to stuff a sweet shifting 6-Speed manual in my 2001 V6 Accord, but that just ain't gonna happen. I went through a quick checklist on how to do it and realized it would be FAR cheaper to sell my car and buy a later generation Accord or Acura TL equipped from the factory with a 6-Speed (and that estimate didn't include downtime for the car).
