Accord Horsepower
 

This might not be in the right area, but i just want to know what cars u guys think a 97 accord V6 can beat in a race. Like can it beat integras and civics? And if i race someone and they have a manual car, can i still beat them if i shift my automatic car like a manual? (from gear 1 to 2 to 3 then D?)

as far as beating manuals, it all depends on the skill of the person shifting the car, it also depends on the launch you get. Alot of factors go into winning a race other than pure horsepower. Human error can play a large role, coniditon of engine and tranny, road conditions.

Are we talking modded civics and integras? or stocks? How modded? all of these are questions you should ask before pulling up at a light and reving that engine. But you never really know until you try.

Like Fenix said there is a lot more than just base numbers... if you want to know who will win in theory then you could find out the HP rating and Weight of the other vehicles and then compare it to your own and that will give you about the best rough, easy estimate that you're going to get... for example a 94 Accord EX rates at 145 HP and a 90-91 Integra GS/RS/LS rates at 130HP but the accord curb weights at 2855 and the integra at 2560 so 2855/145 vs. 2560/130 so Accord:19.69lbs/ 1 HP vs. Integra 19.69/ 1 HP. In theory the bettery driver is going to win and even though one car has less HP they are pretty even

idk about doing the 1-2-3 drive shifting, as i have never owned/messed around with a automatic. but i believe if a person driving a manual knows what they are doing they have the advantage, also, what have you done for mods to your car. I have held my own against preludes, eclipses, and celicas, so accords can do pretty well, but i got blown out of the water by a EVO, but i knew i was going to going in.
