beef up my engine
i have a 2001 accord coupe with the V6 J30A1 engine just need some helpful tips to help me squeeze those extra horses out of it the most popular thing i've seen is the supercharger but i don't have 2500 to spend on it that's half of what i bought the car for.

I start with a bit of reading. I'd spend more time/money on tune up and maint items than trying to make more HP on that engine/trans combo.
|
what do you mean by tune up? like a hyper chip?
|
Nope, a tune up or even a "hyper chip" won't do anything for the power of your engine. I'll say pretty much the same thing to you as I say to most folks; if you want a faster car, then sell your car and buy a faster car, it will cost you thousands less than it would be to modify yours.
|
Well I would rather mod this vehicle than get a new one I am into cars and have to start somewhere in learning to mod cars
|
A few comments about why modding your current car will be an almost complete waste of money, regardless of whether you're learning or not:

well this forum was a bunch of help basically telling me that i bought a piece of s**t car and telling me to buy a new 1 thanks

Ummm, believe it or not, you have a very fine car (albeit with a somewhat weak transmission) which was designed by the extremely talented Honda engineers. That it isn't readily modifiable does not in any way mean it is a bad car, in fact, an argument can be made that it was so well designed that virtually all of the performance potential (short of forced induction) has already been realized.
The above said, if you really-really want an Accord to mod, you should have bought one with a 4-Cylinder motor and a manual transmission. Why?
