bottom radiator hose
 

hi guys, i know changing the bottom radiator hose is just plain simple as in like "undo the clamps, pull the hose out, replace the with the new hose and re do the clamps".

i know it is that simple, but the thing is that, i cannot reach the connection on the bottom of the hose at all...

does anyone know any tricks or tips on that so that it can be much easier?

If you're gonna replace both radiator hoses, it's really not that difficult to take the radiator out. Then you can reach the bottom hose clamps much easier.

i've tried to do this without taking the radiator out but there's no way for me to even reach the bottom hose connector (the one that connects to the radiator)

i've tried them again yesterday with undoing all the bolts so i can just move the radiator a little bit. but still then, i can barely touch the connector, let alone undoing the clips...

is there any DIY on doing this or at least for taking the radiator off?

try jackin up the car an crawlin under it , if you have a cover it's only a few bolts to remove, an there it is.....

i have looked around and there is no bolts around...
there are some, but i have take them of as well, but the cover still wont come off...
can you please post pictures of where the bolts are...

on my 00 AV6 the lower shields were held together with plastic clips. lift the center with 2 flat screwdrivers and then pull the pin out the rest of the way with small needle nose pliers. Last, pull the whole clip out with the pliers.

NOTE: You are not squeezing anything with the pliers, rather using the V shape to evenly pry the clip.


Once you can get to the clamp, if the old hose is hard to get off, cut it with a box cutter ...... that's my trick! If you are replacing with silicone, they slide on easily.
