Honda lists an alternator belt for cars without a/c.

well I figured that ( elimination = to get rid of ) but i never realized that there was a kit for that ,, But i got a question,,, if you plan to remove ( eliminate ) the a/c from the car ,, why bother installing the eliminator kit?? for what purpose ?? i would just install a shorter belt ..I tought Honda sold a belt for that year car without a/c , i could be wrong but if they do not,, just go to a local store and get a shorter belt ( 15-20 dollars max ,), a lot cheaper and less work than installing this A/c eliminator kit ..

if i ran a shorter belt it would scrap pretty deep into the timing belt cover and i'll go through a couple of belts before it you run clean through. i could take it off the coverand cut it but i'd rather get the eliminator kit and just drop it in. its not that i dont want the a/c because i live in south fla but its bad and i'd prefer to ditch it rather then fix it.

The belt shouldn't touch the cover. Sounds like you have something f-ed up.

RE: a/c eliminator kit

just by installing a shorter belt should not change the alignment of the belt .. like Chio says , there is something wrong that allows the belt to scrape the cover,, but ,, if that's the case , then even the longet belt should scrape on the cover
And do not cut the cover,, you do not want any debris and such to get inside the timing belt cover
