Bzzzt, I'm sorry, that is incorrect.

The computer in a car can only tell the engine to help out so much by adjusting the fuel flow. Even then it would have to lean out the fuel flow and that's not good on an engine at all. Have you ever had a car on a multi-purpose dyno before? I have, and have also seen many others going through the plant for work. Like for example, we actually had a 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt on the dyno for my work to show why things like filters need to be replaced. The car was setup on the dyno and hooked to the computer. The computer tells us everything that's going on with the car as well as the outside air, what degree air is coming in, and wait for it.... wait for it...... MPG's as the car's running. the first pull turned out normal as with any stock car would. They replaced the air filter, just the filter. Ran the car again, with everything back to the same, and the car got just from replacing a dirty filter an extra .1 mpg at WOT. They did the same pulls just normal driving, and the car still did better with the new filter by .6 mpg. Just normal driving. Then they showed us how if you add the Roush Cold Air Intake to the same car and ran it again, WOT got better by .8 mpg, and normal driving got a better of 2.3 mpg. So that R&D was done for nothing huh? Is that what you're trying to tell everyone? Every car company does this R&D on things like this so it gives them many facts about their products to help sell them. Deisel Engines suffer even more when the filter is clogged just like gasoline engines.

I'd be happy to debate this with you once you get learned-up a bit; clearly you have no clue as to how modern engine control systems work. I've provided you with a fair amount of data, I can provide much more, but hey, one can lead a horse to water...

As for the sillyness you wrote above, it is completely and utterly debunked by the exhaustive study I referenced earlier; said study being done by Oak Ridge National Laboratories and managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy. So, your word against theirs, and trust me, your ramblings don't come close to the authority with which they present their data and findings.

Ok. Clearly you have a one track mind with this and know no other way. I'll just leave you with this. I will go on with my life believing with what I think, and you do the same. I was trying to inform you that your findings mean nothing to me with every other finding out there that I personally have seen and witnessed. Not trying to make that sound harsh, just didn't know how else to put it. I would like to say to you shipo that if I was to ever meet you, I would still feel the way I do now and I'm sure you would still feel the same way you do too, and I'm not saying that as a bad thing. I do hope that you have a great day, and I'm sure we'll be talking in another post one day. Hopefully helping someone out with their car.

Interesting response; wouldn't you feel better if you really understood the process instead of maintaining things which are scientifically and physically impossible?

If you ever decide you want some resources to study, I'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
