Car Defroster Should I

So Ive decided after replaceing my thermostate and my heater still didnt work that it might be ALOT more cheaper to buy one of those heater defrosters and just use that rather then replacing the whole dang heater core and paying out the butt for it......Opinions? Here is the link to the defroster/heater im going to try out if you guys give me good opinions about it.

you might be able to ghetto rig up a fix for the heater core. whats wrong with it?

turns out it wasnt the heater core thermostate or anything major at all - it was some jack@$$ trying to hook up a stereo himself, so its fixed now no worrys
