Car Shifts Hard
 

well, I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX, And everytime I drive my car, And it shifts, it kicks pretty hard, Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? My dad told me it was a tranny problem (Automotic Tranny), and if it is, im want to buy a manual tranny.

Could anyone verify this? And if it is a tranny problem, can anyone point me to a list of stuff i will need to do a automatic to Manual conversion?

And a tutorial would be helpful.

clutches in the tranny are going out. It might shift smoother when the tranny is warm. About 1k to rebuild. As for the swap, search for it. Tons of prople have posted about it.

drain and fill 3 times with a 5 mile drive inbetween each time. on the third drain and fill, add one can of lubeguard for IMPORTS (red cap)

Those trannies are known for hard shifting when they get older so I would not be too worried unless it is jerking or slamming into gear

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1237137&page=1 this is a great auto to manual conversion guide. if you want to swap, i would reccomend using an F22B1 transmission instead. The edge doesnt line up perfectly, but all the bolts match and its gear ratios are designed more for speed than... well... the F22B2...
if you really want speed, use an H22 or H23 trans, they accelerate way faster, but your at a really high rpm at 65-70 mph, so your mileage will suffer quite a bit.
IMO the F22B1 trans is a good compromise.
