I put a H22a4 in my 97, went obd1 though. Pretty much just use your accord harness, get a hasport driver side mount, distributor wiring can be tricky.

You will have a hard time finding a obd2 ecu to work, as most obd2 h22 ecus have an immobilizer built in.

You also must make sure the H22a4 you have is out of a base model prelude and not a type-SH one. As the type-SH one has a weird intermediate shaft to connect it to the ATTS transmission. It could still be swapped in, but just takes a whole lot more custom fabrication and hassle and really not worth it.

well its funny you say that because i am actually using the sh h22a4 but i am hooking it to my accord trans and custom fabing my intermediate shalf to mount to the block as the atts using a large four bolt pattern to bolt the atts unit to the block. i have the engine in my 91 prelude at the moment but i am having trouble with my f22b dohc engine in my accord, and as i am having alot of trouble finding the exact parts to rebuild my f22b. also i know this isnt smart but i am using a civic sohc vtec computer, only to get my car inspected it will be odb1 p28 chipped the rest of the time.. but i have to be able to pass obd2 testing or i can't drive my car.... maybe this will give a little insight to the pickle i am in..

I would think you would have better luck just running the accord ecu than a civic one. But thats just me, I never attempted to pass inspection legitimately with mine lol.

The 96 prelude ECU is the only OBD2 h22 ecu without an immobilizer, and everyone knows this so they bring in big $ for them. I priced one out once and it was like $300+ for one.

another thing has anyone done a writeup on switching the gears or of the sh tranny to a base model tranny as the sh has the type s gearing..... any info i am planning on tearing into the tranny and trying this unless i find that it is imposable if it is possible i will make a write up on it..

live2rice 03-25-2009 12:36 AM

Never heard of anyone doing that, most people avoid the SH tranny like a plague. But I'm not in the H game anymore. I suggest maybe checking out h22squad.com there are a lot of knowledgeable people over there.

I'll check that site out. I would use my accord computer but it is a of so it is non vtec how ever in theory that will work becaus the computer will not be looking for vtec so it cshould work. Also before I can say that would work do I have to change the a6 and the a11. Pins. On the ecu.
