That thing is a major PITA to get off.... if you don't have air tools and/or the special tool to hold the pulley you have a few options. Get someone to brace/hold it and use a LONG breaker bar to get it off or run down to the local auto shop and have them loosen it then tighten it just enough so you can drive back home and finish up...

I have a Electric Impact that Push Out about 240 ft lbs of torque. Is the Crank Pulley Bolt Reverse threads?

What year is your car? 92 and 94 are not reverse threads.... Here is one person's fight to get it off.... that thing is on there VERY tight, make sure your airpressure in your tank is up high enough to supply your tools...

It should just be a standard thread though.... sorry I missed the fact that it was electric.... I believe you mentioned in another post that you left it on there for a few minutes and it didn't do anything, if that's the case then my guess would be that it's not kicking out enough torque to bust it loose, spray it with some wd-40 and let it sit for a while then try it again with the impact gun, you may need to go oldschool and just get a BIG extension and wrench...

That stinks....:( I will work on it today some more...

RE: Crank Pully Bolt

the other options are to either rent a larger impact gun or take it to a nearby shop and have them brake it loose then re-tighten it to something a little lower that your impact gun can get off either way it's only about $20-$25 to have one of these things done.... If you are going to use a big breaker bar then having a hammer in your hand to tap on the wrench can help break it loose too, or try running the gun for about 5 seconds, pause a half second, then 5 more seconds and continue that for a few minutes... WD-40 is your friend in this situation

RE: Crank Pully Bolt

Big breaker bar and some hard work or rent a heavy duty electric impact gun is the route I would go.... those bolts suck to get off...

Well after worked today.. I drop buy the Auto Store and picked up Some PB Blaster for the Crank Bolt. I sprayed some and let it soaked before I impact it again for a good 5 mins. Still nothing. Im not sure where I can rent a Heavy Duty Electric Impact gun..Are they expensive to rent? Or should I get that Tool from PowerTool that hold the Crank Pulley so i can take off the bolt with a Very Large Breaker Bar...

RE: Crank Pully Bolt

Are you using an extension with your impact? Don't. Get a deep socket if you need the reach, but an extension will lose lots of torque from an impact wrench.

Does '93 still have the timing inspection hole in the bellhousing? If so, you can get a crowbar to hold the flywheel. Need another person to hold it good, but you can use that while wailing on the crank pulley bolt. Careful; if the crowbar slips you could chip the starter teeth of the flywheel...

RE: Crank Pully Bolt

No extension on the impact. Yes there is an inspection hole in the bell housing where the rubber plug go..
